The boy was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to hospital by land ambulance.

Police confirmed that the victim was a boy, not a girl as originally stated.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster at around 5.30pm.

"An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a teenaged boy

"They were treated by ambulance staff for serious injuries before being taken via land ambulance to hospital for further treatment."

West Mercia Police have been contacted for comment.

This article has been corrected as we were previously told by the ambulance service that the victim was a girl, however they have since corrected this and confirmed the victim was a boy.
