A HUGE fire in Oldbury caused road delays today (Wednesday).
A stockpile of wood was on fire at the site which is based off Wolverhampton Road, close to the junction with Causeway Green Road.
Emergency crews were called to the blaze at approximately 12.40pm to tackle the fire which was taking place near buildings.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: βA large amount of wood is on fire at the rear of properties in Wolverhampton Road.
βIt has spread to a garage.β
Two jets of water were being used to dampen the flames and stop the spread.
West Midlands Fire Service issued a warning as hoses were on the road and urged caution by passing motorists.
Crews from both Oldbury and Smethwick stations were sent to the scene.
