A large crowd braved the winter chill to attend the final collective machinery auction of the year at The Gallops, Stanklyn Lane, Stone, near Kidderminster.

Top price of the day went to a Barford Swivel Tip Dumper, which sold for £3,800 and other notable sales in the tractor and vehicles section were £2,100 for a Track Marshall Bulldozer, £1,180 for an Isuzu Trooper and £750 for a Peugeot 406.

The trailer section reported its usual good trade, with an Ifor Williams 14ft 3.5 tonne trailer selling for £1,500, a Ifor Williams 10ft stock trailer making £1,250, a Ifor Williams twin axle GD105 trailer selling for £1,000 and a Swift 1995 four berth caravan making £700.

The farm implements section included a Wessex Topper at £640, an IAE cattle crush at £760 and a Wessex sweeper at £430.

Garden machinery included a range of animal hutches, which sold well, a Westwood ride on mower at £350, a Toro ride on mower at £215 and a Hayter ride on mower at £200.

Both the small tools and timber and building materials section had a large number of lots and a good trade was seen for insulation, bags of logs and axes, possibly due to the cold weather.

The next Stone sale will be held on Friday, January 25 with a catalogue deadline of Monday, January 14. For more information, contact auctioneers Halls’ Kidderminster office on 01562 820990.
