"We're really looking forward to it," said singer Natalie.

"We'd like to invite anyone who likes punk music to come along and vote for us on the night.

The competition gets under way on Monday June 16 with sets from The Vants, Sam Draisey and The Razorbacks with Glass Lashes set to appear during the second heat.

Mike Hamblett from the Robin 2, on Mount Pleasant, said: "The fantastic range of prizes on offer for this year's competition winners must be a great kick start to help any young band.

"It is the complete band promotion package, mix down, artwork, record deal, publishing, cash and live DVD shoot."
