STOURBRIDGE-born band The Wonder Stuff have been on home turf getting ready for a nationwide tour.

The band has been at Base Studios rehearsing with an old friend who is their new drummer - former Pop Will Eat Itself player Fuzz Townsend.

While The Wonder Stuff were in town Base Sessions reporter Martyn Smith caught up with frontman Miles Hunt for a chat about their UK tour with The Levellers, which marks the 20th anniversary of The Levellers’ album Levelling The Land.

The Wonder Stuff recently celebrated their own anniversary - 25 years making music which took them to the top of the charts and headlining massive gigs during the 90s.

During occasionally turbulent times, the Stuffies’ line-up changed frequently and Fuzz’s recruitment follows the decision by sticksman Andres Karu to move on to other projects.

Karu’s departure was amicable and Miles believes recent times with The Wonder Stuff have been some of his happiest, with songs taking priority over the demands of the music business.
