A Rowley Regis chef is hoping to prove he’s the hottest talent when he jets out to Bangladesh to show off his curry cooking skills.
Shahidur Rahman, Master Chef for The Raj Spice, on Halesowen Street, will take part in the fifth International British Fusion Food Festival in Dhaka this November..
No stranger to the taste of success, Shahidur has already come out on top in several regional curry chef competitions, including the Curry Chef of the Year.
Now he is amongst six British ‘Super Curry Chefs’ selected to participate in the British Fusion Food Festival, where chefs are challenged to create a menu which combines authentic Indian food with contemporary cuisine, creating the ultimate fusion of East and West.
Shahidur, a chef at The Raj Spice for over 10 years, said he was excited to be taking part in the four-day festival.
He added: “I have cooked in various competitions but a showcase event like this will be a real challenge.”
