TWO ugly sisters, a fairy godmother and the frantic search for the owner of a glass slipper - put 'em together and what have you got? The most magical pantomime of them all, Cinderella.

Julian Clary demanded attention every time he graced the stage at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre due to his flamboyant and fantastically camp wardrobe.

Arriving on stage in a carriage pulled by scantily clad men, Clary immediately takes centre stage as the Prince’s aide Dandini.

An innuendo laced almost every line he spoke throughout the show, getting him chuckles aplenty from the adults and puzzled looks from the younger members of the audience.

Although there is no denying Clary’s performance was as show stopping as his outfits, for me Joe Tracini stole the show as the lovable fool Buttons.

Like his father, Joe Pasquali, the former soap star is a natural when it comes to panto and he kept the audience thoroughly entertained with his slapstick comedy and magic tricks.

He also got the biggest applause of the night when he sang a surprisingly good rendition of John Legend’s All of Me.

Add to the mix Fairy godmother Niki Evans, who proved she had The X Factor as she wowed the audience with her voice and it’s no surprise Cinderella smashed the theatre’s previous pantomime box office records - taking £1 million in sales before the opening weekend.

The feel-good family show will run until January 18.
