ACTRESS and comedienne Josie Lawrence, who began her career with Oldbury Repertory Theatre, sent her best wishes and a charity donation, as members past and present celebrated 70 years of performances.

Stalwart audience members also attended the party, which raised £776 for Sunfield School in Clent for children with severe learning difficulties.

The company’s final production of its anniversary season is the classic comedy Dad’s Army which opens on Satur-day for a week. Tickets on 0121 552 2761.
