DUDLEY Little Theatre redeemed itself when it staged an engaging version of popular period drama Pride and Prejudice.
After the horror-ific outing that was Dracula - staged in December - the theatre company based at Netherton Arts Centre came back to life with Jane Austen’s classic tale of manners, morality and marriage.
Set in early 19th century England, the play tells of the trials and tribulations of five sisters as they attempt to find husbands.
Staging was adequate, period costumes were delightful and the production featured an array of strong supporting players.
But the stars of the show were, as usual, Emma Dyke as main character Elizabeth Bennet and David Hutchins as aloof romantic hero Mr Darcy.
Emma - who has starred in a number of successful outings with DLT - shone as the spirited, second youngest Bennet daughter.
While seasoned society regular David was ideally cast as dashing Fitzwilliam Darcy who finds himself falling in love with a woman beneath his class.
The pair - who have starred opposite each other on numerous occasions - play perfectly together and are a delight to watch time after time.
Both ooze stage presence and seem to melt effortlessly into each role they take on.
