JOAN Armatrading has a career that spans 42 years but for the first time she go it alone for a world tour.
This will be the last major tour the Grammy nominated, singer, songwriter and guitarist will undertake - admitting at the age of 63, that although she will never retire, she wants to slow down.
She said she was excited about the prospect of touring alone, added: "For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar and piano, which I haven't played on stage since about 1976. I want these concerts to be a special lively interactive one to one experience. I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience.
"I'm looking forward to visiting all of the venues on tour, I might be playing the same songs each night but the reaction and atmosphere is always different."
Fans will be treated to a mix of old favourites from her long and illustrious career and newer material including City Girl, Love and Affection, Willow, Drop The Pilot and Me, Myself I.
Joan will be live on stage at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, at 7.30pm on October 26.
Tickets, priced £27.50 are available from www.grandtheatre.co.uk.
