A BLACK Country music venue is playing host to a celebration of the music of Simon and Garfunkel this weekend.
The Robin 2 at Bilston will be the venue for a performance of successful touring theatre show The Simon and Garfunkel Story – which celebrates the lives and career of the folk rock sensation who recorded their first number one single The Sound of Silence some 50 years ago.
The anniversary show, which stops off on Sunday September 14, tells the story of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel from their humble beginnings through to their massive success, dramatic break-up and 1981 Central Park reformation concert.
Featuring West End leading man Dean Elliot (Buddy Holly in Buddy - The Musical) and a cast of talented actor/musicians, the show sees both original photos and film footage shown on a big screen while a live band performs hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound, Sound of Silence and many more.
