BLACK Country folk trio The Empty Can are rounding off a spectacular 2014 with a Christmas show in Stourbridge.

The band became ambassadors for their region in the summer by challenging the charts with their anthem I Vow to Thee My Black Country.

The song was adopted by the organisers of the successful Black Country Festival, which took place in July, and became an online hit.

The band and special guests including Son of Stan and Jess Silk will be playing live at the Cellar Bar, Katie Fitzgerald’s, Enville Street, on Sunday December 21 at a free gig.

In a statement for their fans The Empty Can said: “It's been a truly great year for us and that is all down to you so with that in mind there will be no charge on the door, all of the performers will be giving their time as a favour to us and you.

“Come and celebrate the season with us and allow us to show our gratitude to you for making this our best year yet.”

The Empty Can has also released a re-mastered version of their debut album, The Acoustic Record, which includes the singles The Good Old Days, The Place in Which I Roar and a version of their Black Country Anthem.
