UNLEASHING a new heavier sound on the city, Aurora have released the first single recorded with their new vocalist to much applause.

After losing their frontwoman at the beginning of the year, the metal five-piece decided to make a change and replaced her with new frontman Rhys Whitehouse.

And, after a long wait for fans, the band released the first single, Rain Dance, with the new male vocalist on Thursday, June 4.

Bassist Josh Hammond said the band had been itching to get the track out on the airwaves and feels like the risk of swapping from a frontwoman to a frontman was the right choice for the Birmingham-based band.

He said: "Since swapping vocalist it feels like new life has been breathed into us again and we're very excited about what the future holds.

"It's heavier compared to our previous material but we aimed to set the bar for ourselves and I think we achieved that."

This will be the third single the band has released overall and will be coming off the band's forthcoming coming album, Faith Breaker, which will be released on In At The Deep End records towards the end of this year.

Speaking about the album, Josh added: "People can expect just all out heaviness on this album."

The single, Rain Dance, is available to buy from HMV, Amazon, and iTunes, and is also available to stream on Spotify.
