THOSE in Stourbridge with heavier music tastes can enjoy some of the best local metal bands while helping children at an upcoming Christmas party.

Following the success of last year’s event, Carnage Club’s Xmas Party returns to Scary Canary The Venue this Friday (December 16).

This year’s show, led by doom metal band Opium Lord, will once again require an entry cost of a brand new unwrapped toy that will be donated to Operation Santa.

Nathan Coyle, event organiser, said: “Last year we ran a packed out Xmas Party at Scary Canary The Venue and it was a massive success, so we’ll be doing the same again this year and hopefully be even better.

“All we ask attendees to do is bring a brand new unwrapped toy with them that would be donated to disadvantaged children in the area who, without Operation Santa, would not receive gifts at Christmas.”

Music promoter Nathan is a member of Opium Lord – a Stourbridge band who are signed to Candlelight Records and have toured North America.

He added: “My friend Bruce and I have put on the best the UK underground scene has to offer in Stourbridge over the last five years and supporting Black Country talent helping them to release music.

“Playing this event we have Opium Lord – this is our only hometown show – Burden of the Noose, Tomorrow Come The Wolves and Eternal Leader.

“It’s certainly a show for heavier tastes.”

Doors open at Scary Canary at 8pm.
