STOURBRIDGE pianist Matthew Davies will be performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 at St James’s Church in Wollaston next month.

Matthew will be accompanied by the 40 members of the Central England Ensemble led by Anna Downes at the concert on Saturday March 11.

The Ensemble will also perform Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony and new composition ‘The Legend of the Tamar’ written by conductor Tony Bridgewater.

Stourbridge based Local & Live - a not for profit group of classical music enthusiasts - has organised the event which is part of a series of concerts at the church in Bridgnorth Road.

Local and Live chairman Graham Smith said: “It will be a very special evening, showcasing the talent of local performers. As well as listening to wonderful music by Beethoven and Mozart, the audience will have the opportunity to hear the first performance of a brand new composition by a local composer.”

Tickets are priced £9 and are available on the door. The concert starts at 7.30pm.
