STOURBRIDGE born acoustic singer/songwriter Nigel Passey will be stopping off to play a rare hometown gig this weekend as part of his first-ever solo tour.
Nigel, who is currently studying popular music at Leeds College of Music, will be bringing his ‘Turn Up and Play’ tour to The River Rooms, Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge, on Tuesday July 27.
The 20-year-old musician, who rates the Goo Goo Dolls and Damien Rice among his inspirations, will be showcasing his melodic material from his debut album Made of Tissues - which is due for release soon.
Previously a member of Black Country acoustic rock outfit Changing Scenes, Nigel has been writing and performing his own thought-provoking tracks at venues around Leeds - where he has lived for the last two years; so his headline outing at The River Rooms will be his first hometown gig in a while.
Stourbridge band The Fans of Faye will also be on the bill, along with Bradford based acoustic artist Tom Gee and Chris Thomas from Kingswinford.
Tickets cost £3. Doors open at 7pm.
