Stourbridge glass centre to host Cafe Jazz night

STOURBRIDGE jazz musician Simon Deeley is gearing up for a night of Cafe Jazz at Amblecote’s Ruskin Glass Centre.

The Simon Deeley Trio will perform jazz styles and genres at the Wollaston Road centre on Sunday June 24 - the latest date in a series of occasional gigs lined-up at the canal-side venue.

Saxophonist and flute player Casey Greene will also be performing on the night - which will feature 1930's swing tunes, soul jazz, atmospheric blues and ballads, cool latin jazz sounds, easy swinging jazz waltz numbers and lively up-tempo numbers.

Jazz pianist Simon Deeley said his debut outing at the venue in January proved successful so he plans to hold a number of concerts there throughout the year - offering jazz fans chance to “relax, sample some tasty fayre and listen to classic evocative jazz”.

The centre’s cafe bar will be open for pre-show drinks and snacks.

The concert starts at 7.30pm.

Admission is £7 for adults on the door and £3.50 for students/under 16s.
