Stourbridge singers given chance to shine
8:30am Thursday 12th July 2012 in Music
A SEARCH For a Star competition, organised by the team behind art and music festival SMARTFest 2012, aims to give undiscovered Stourbridge talent a chance to shine.
The first heat of the competition was held at St John’s Church, Stourbridge, on Saturday, and after impressing the judges all five entrants will now go through to sing in the festival which runs from August 10 to 12.
Molly Wood, Holly Littlewood, Alesi Summer, Martha Darcy and Amber Hughes will now sing at SMARTFest on Friday August 10 during Mark Williams’ Afternoon Show on 102.5 The Bridge.
The winner will be decided by judges on the day and also by an online public vote.
SMARTFest spokesman Mark Williams said: “All the singers were of such a high standard it was decided they should all get a chance to shine.
“But there has to be a winner eventually.”
