HARD rock quartet Bullet For My Valentine may be million-sellers but they chose leave familiar territory to record album number four.

Instead of recording in the U.S. or UK, they headed for Karma Sound Studios in Bang Saray, Thailand, with producer Don Gilmore, the man behind their 2010 album Fever.

The change of scene but familiar face contributed to create an album which the band says shows a new maturity.

Frontman Matt Tuck said: "We wanted to make songs that would stand the test of time," concludes Tuck. "Every track takes you on a little journey, and that's what music should do for people. We've gone through the stage of having to prove ourselves. We're men now. We want to please ourselves first and hopefully our fan base with what we do. We're not worrying about what critics think or say. We're not interested in genres or labels either. It's about doing what comes naturally.

"I had a bit of an idea going into this, it was basically record-as-we-go. There were no writing or demo sessions this time around. I'd just done the same thing with my other band AxeWound, and it was so exciting and productive.

So I asked the Bullet boys, we decided on Thailand, and it was the best decision we could've made."

For almost a month, the musicians immersed themselves in the process, taking a just two days off to ride elephants and see tigers in their natural habitat.

The band will be on the road to promote the album at UK arenas in next month including a gig at tBirmingham's NIA on Tuesday December 3.

Matt Tuck said: "In 2010 we got our first taste of headlining arenas and it was mind blowing, this time around it’s gonna be louder, crazier and we'll be bringing more pyro than ever."
