A BAND making a big noise on the music scene is including the Black Country on its big year-end tour.

The Silence will be at The River Rooms in Stourbridge on Thursday December 4, which will be among the final shows in a massive year for the band.

The Silence is a four-piece pop/rock band from Durham fronted by Livvy Griffiths with brother Max on drums.

The line up is completed by Liam Slack and Gary Johnston on bass and guitar.

The group has already completed two UK tours and been on the road in Europe and America.

They are signed to the independent label Awesome Records owned by music promoter and manager David Giles.

After signing their deal the band were dispatched to a 73-room mansion where they found the inspiration for new songs which were showcased at festivals throughout the summer.

Record producer Matt O'Grady, known for his work with You Me at Six and Deaf Havana, has been at the controls for their debut EP which is due for release in early 2014.

The EP includes the track Barriers which was released on November 18 to critical acclaim.

The Silence are already attracting major label interest after comparisons to Blondie and Paramore.
