NEW York’s finest usually catch criminals and the latest import from the Big Apple means Wolverhampton punters can do the same.
The import in question is the Fun Lovin’ Criminals who are set to bring their brand of jazz/indie/hip hop to the Wulfrun Hall.
The trio are best known for their tracks Scooby Snacks and Fun Lovin’ Criminal which were hits taken from their debut album Come Find Yourself, which was released in 1996.
The band is often referred to as FLC and take inspiration from an eclectic mix of musical styles.
Lyrically their half-Irish, half-Puerto Rican frontman Huey Morgan sings about violence, drug use, politics and organised crime.
He draws on his own experiences of being in trouble with the law as a young man and being given the choice of a spell in the Marines instead of jail.
Morgan has become a regular on British TV, his last appearance on the panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks did not end well after he stormed off, smashing a coffee mug in the process.
He also hosts a show on BBG Radio 6 Music.
The band has continued to write and record new material and tours regularly. Catch the Fun Lovin’ Criminals at Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall on Sunday January 19.
