TV funny girl Jo Caulfield will be one of the highlights of the third Stourbridge Comedy Festival taking place across three venues.

The 50-year-old has consistently won awards, including being voted into The 100 Greatest Stand Ups by Channel 4, and has regularly appeared on television in Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo.

She will headline the Thursday night leg of the concert, at Moochers Bar on July 10, but the festival has a varied line up starting the day before with the Gong Show at the Mitre.

This will see ten acts trying to last five minutes on stage before the audience gets fed up and boos them off.

The Mitre will also host a free late night show on Friday July 11, following the main show that night at Stourbridge FC, featuring Joel Dommett and Ellie Taylor, best known for hosting Snog, Marry, Avoid on TV.

Finishing proceedings off on the Saturday will be Ian Cognito at The Mitre, who is billed as having been banned from more comedy clubs than any other individual.

Frankie Peoples, festival organiser and regular host of the monthly comedy hut, said he had tried to get a varied list of venues and acts that people of all ages can enjoy.

He said:"Jo is well known on television having become a mainstay of popular shows, as is Ellie so we are looking forward to seeing them live for the first time in Stourbridge.

"Ian proved popular first time around and as well as the main headline acts there is a superb line up of support plus the gong show which means it will be four consecutive nights of comedy."

A full three day festival ticket for entry to all gigs is £26, with individual show tickets £11 and £12- for full details go to www.thecomedyhut.com
