I think La Cage Aux Folles is the best show I have ever seen.

I know that is quite a bold statement but from the second the curtain went up at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, I was hooked.

It had everything I love in a production - glamour, humour, emotion, dancing and great songs.

I was transported into the marvellously camp world of Georges and Albin, the dazzling drag artiste known as Za Za and the star of la Cage aux Folles.

The couple live an idyllic existence in the heart of St Tropez - until Georges’ son Jean-Michele announces his engagement to the daughter of a notorious right-wing politician.

Drama and hilarity ensue when a meeting of the parents forces them to cover up their vibrant lifestyle, can they pull it off? You'll have to watch it to find out!

And watch it you must, John Partridge, is absolutely incredible as Albin. It's like he was born for this role, he is unbelievably talented.

He looked fabulous in the costumes, was note perfect, his facial expressions were spot on and he made me laugh and almost cry.

I've never seen a standing ovation like last night. Everyone was on their feet, clapping, whooping and hollering and it was so deserved.

Every single member of the cast brought something to the show - the sassy Les Cagelles were a treat, Adrian Zmed was fantastic as charming Georges and a special mention must go to Samson Ajewole, who had me howling as Jacob the maid (not butler).

I can't stress enough how good this show is, if you haven't got a ticket yet, be quick, it's only on until July 1.
