MAMMA Mia! is an ‘ABBAsolute’ treat for the ears, eyes and mind.

It’s set on a Greek island and follows Sophie’s quest to discover the father she’s never known.

She invites three men to her wedding - who are all faces from her mother Donna’s distant romantic past - and is sure she'll know who her dad is as soon as she claps eyes on him.

If you haven’t seen the show before, I won’t spoil it for you but it's safe to say that it turns into a wedding that no one will ever forget!

It was the first time I had seen the show, I hadn't even seen the film so I didn’t really have a clue what to expect apart from a lot of ABBA songs.

I’d guessed that it would be a feel-good musical and I was spot on but it also had depth and was a perfectly polished production.

The songs seamlessly blended in with the dialogue, the dance moves were flawless, the comic timing was impeccable and some of the more flamboyant costumes were simply fabulous.

Helen Hobson who played Donna and her two gal pals Rosie (played by Rebecca Seale) and Tanya (Emma Clifford) stole the show for me. They are a force to be reckoned with – what a trio!

Between them they had the best scenes in the show.

Tanya singing my favourite ABBA track Does Your Mother Know to young Pepper (played by the extremely talented and cheeky Louis Stockil) was a particular highlight.

Rosie begging Bill Austin (played by Christopher Hollis) to Take A Chance on Me also made me chuckle and pulled in plenty of laughs from the rest of audience.

The three women together sounded spectacular as they belted out some of the Swedish pop group's biggest hits Dancing Queen, Chiquitita, Super Trouper and Waterloo.

The cast as a whole were fantastic and I don’t think the smile fell from my face throughout the whole show. In just a few toe-tapping hours, Mamma Mia! has rocketed its way into my top three musicals of all time.

But don’t take my word for it, you simply must see it at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre for yourself – it’s on until February 24.
