DUDLEY Little Theatre thespians hope to put theatregoers in the mood for summer holidays when they stage popular 1980s TV sitcom Hi-de-Hi.

Characters from the much-loved comedy, set at the fictional about Maplin’s holiday camp in 1959, will be brought to life by the company’s capable cast which includes Karen Whittingham - starring as Peggy Ollerenshaw (played by Su Pollard in the BBC series) - and Liane Purnel, starring as Gladys Pugh (Ruth Madoc).

The show, based on Jimmy Perry and David Croft’s original TV comedy and adapted for the stage by Paul Carpenter and Ian Gower, will run at Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton, from May 9 to 12.

Performances start at 7.30pm.

Directed by Maurice Felton, the production marks the end of DLT’s 65th season which kicked off last September with an adaptation of John Buchan's The 39 Steps.

Tickets for Hi-de-Hi cost £6 (£5 concessions) and there’s a ten per cent discount on sales of ten tickets or more.

They are available from Dudley Council Plus on 01384 812812, Chris Ridgeway on 01384 872583 or 07582 318017, Flavell's the butchers in Netherton, or online at www.dudleylittletheatre.org
