Viewers of The Great Pottery Throw Down have reacted with satisfaction to the news that Ryan Barrett was crowned the winner.
The male model from Suffolk was popular with fans of the BBC Two contest throughout the series and triumphed in tonightโs final over Clover Lee and Richard Parker.
After Ryan was announced as the winner, viewers saw an amusing conversation with his grandmother who he had called to pass on the good news.
He said: โIโm holding the trophy.โ
His grandmother replied: โAre you? Well done dear. And you donโt get any money or anything?โ
Ryan said: โNo, Grandma, just a really nice trophy.โ
Many of those watching the programme said that they had been surprised at how interested they had become in pottery.
The other two finalists also impressed viewers.
Ryan said that he had been taken aback by the reaction to himself and the series.
He said: โI didnโt expect the Twitter reaction to take off in such a big way.
โI think I was one of the top tweets on the first night.
โIt was great to read all the tweets and to see that the viewers were enjoying the show, because thatโs what itโs all about really.โ
