Halesowen British Legion launches this year's Poppy Appeal

Halesowen Town players and air cadets joined forces to launch Halesowen Britsh Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Cadets from 233 Squadron Air Training Corps based in Halesowen travelled to The Yeltz for the launch of the appeal.

The cadets will be selling poppies at B&Q in Halesowen on Saturday November 3 and Sunday November 4 and at the Black Horse in Illey on Sunday November 4.

Members of the Royal British Legion, Mercian cadets and Staffordshire cadets will carry out street collections and sell poppies in Halesowen town centre and the Cornbow Shopping Centre on Thursday November 8, Friday November 9 and Saturday November 10.

Schools, shops and businesses will be able to sell poppies to support the appeal from Saturday (October 27).

Last year the legion branch collected £22,222.

Bronya Webster, poppy appeal organiser, thanked everyone who donated to raise the “amazing” total.
