£10k drugs raid on Oldbury flat

DRUGS valued at £10,000 have been seized from an Oldbury flat during a joint operation between police and Sandwell Homes.

Officers raided the flat at Harry Price House, Lion Farm estate, after discovering a strong cannabis smell coming from the property while carrying out door to door inquiries.

They found 14 cannabis plants and suspected Class A drugs, which police took away. Investigations are ongoing and Sandwell Homes will be applying for possession of the flat.

The seizure was part of the second week of Sandwell’s Safer 6 Campaign, which also saw five tonnes of waste cleared from grot sports around the town.

Offenders on Community Payback put in 220 hours of community service to clear five tonnes of waste from areas including Blakeley Hall Road and the canal towpath in Langley.
