TORRENTIAL rain overnight has caused flooding in parts of Halesowen and Cradley Heath.

Corngreaves Road is under three feet of water and fire crews are battling to remove two cars.

The occupants of the vehicles managed to get out of the vehicles and the road is being closed.

West Midlands Fire Service station commander Dean Harris said: “Crews are in attendance at Corngreaves Road at a water rescue incident. There is three feet of water on that stretch of road. “There are three fire engines and one water support incident.”

Corngreaves Road will be closed to traffic near the bridge junction with Hawne Lane until further notice.

In Halesowen there have also been reports of flooding with drains overflowing on Manor Way and water cascading down the road from Grange Island.
