A SENIOR Conservative met with Halesowen Tories to discuss issues ranging from investment in the town to the European Community.
Government whip Lord Tariq Ahmad, front bench spokesman on international development, justice and communities and local government, talked with members of the Conservative association at Lapal House care home.
Cradley South and Hayley Green councillor Ken Turner said Lord Ahmad was very influential, having “the ear of the Prime Minister.”
“We talked about the benefits of Halesowen’s location and its environment and how we’d like to see major investments to bring in new business to the town,” he said.
Cllr Turner said it was hoped Lord Tariq would take Halesowen’s ambitions to the attention of David Cameron.
