Horror smash surviving champion bodybuilder offers free Halesowen fitness classes
8:00am Friday 1st February 2013 in News
A CHAMPION bodybuilder who only survived an horrific motorcycle crash because of his physical strength is giving Halesowen residents a chance to get fit for free.
Paul Nicholls suffered life-threatening injuries including a brain haemorrhage, damaged lungs, and broken bones in the smash in 2008 but has battled back to fitness and is now running Workoutz gym, Grammar School Lane, with his wife Tracey.
Paul, who competed in the British Bodybuilding Championships four times, said: "At the time no one thought I would live let alone get back to my peak physical fitness but the doctors said my strength and muscle certainly helped my body recover and protected me.
"Now Tracey and I want to encourage others to get fit and while I am sure they won't face the horror I did I do want them to know that keeping fit is vital for everyone in staying well and in sone cases keeping us alive."
Paul and Tracey are inviting people to their gym for free from Monday, February 4 until February 10 and visitors can try out as fitness classes for free.
Paul added: ""We offer personal training induction programmes and dietary advice and do not operate contracts - gym membership starts from just £24.99 a month.
“We also have a women only area and a studio lies the women only area boasting classes from Zumba to Bokwa, Fight FX to Jump FX and Phat Attack to Legs Bums and Tums."
The pair have picked the West Midlands Air Ambulance as their chosen charity for the gym as the service helped save Paul’s life.
Tracey said: "Their staff were amazing and the pilot even came back in the evening to check on Paul.
There are 20 of us doing the skydive as our way to repay them."
