THREE men have been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack at the former St Michael's School site in Rowley Regis.
Residents were advised to keep windows and doors shut to keep smoke out and roads in the area were closed as firefighters battled the blaze.
The fire broke out at the derelict school in Throne Road at 4.30pm.
Around seven fire crews are thought to have attended the incident, with firefighters using haudraulic platforms to fight the flames.
Police closed Throne Road at Shelsey Avenue, Portway Hill, Newbury Lane and Stuarts Road, with closures lifted at around 10pm last night.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing but three men have been arrested.
