ONE hundred tonnes of rubbish went up in flames at a Kingswinford recycling centre.

Dozens of firefighters battled the blaze which broke out at Oakham Environmental Waste and Recycling Centre, Oak Lane, at around 7.20pm last night.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said six crews from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Woodgate and Wolverhampton attended the incident which saw the fire rip through a mound of rubbish.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
