THE ABANDONED site of a former pub in Cradley Heath is becoming a haven for drug takers and is becoming a danger to local children, a local councillor complained today.

Cradley Heath and Old Hill councillor Julie Webb is furious nothing is being done to secure the old Blue Ball pub site on Peartree Lane.

She said: “With constant flytipping the place is a disgusting eye-sore and finding drug needles and syringes is the last straw, something has to be done.

“Now that some of the panels of the fence have been ripped off local children can get into the site which is really dangerous.”

Cllr Webb added: “We are trying to get the owner and Sandwell Council to do something about this public hazard as quickly as possible.

“But for the time being I hope parents will warn their children to stay away from the site for their own safety.”
