Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP launches energy saving booklet

AS ENERGY bills continue to rise Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris has published a new edition of his booklet on saving money on heating bills.

The guide updates last year’s booklet on how residents can become more energy efficient and so save money on their energy bills.

Residents can also get financial assistance for becoming more energy efficient including getting cheap loans to all home owners to improve their energy efficiency.

Mr Morris said: “With 21 per cent of households in Halesowen and Rowley Regis having to spend more than 10 per cent of their income on heating, it is vital that everybody is given the advice and support they need to cut energy costs.”

He added: “One of the main problems for vulnerable households, and particularly the elderly, is that they are simply not aware of what help is available to them and so I urge as people to read the booklet and use the information to help friends, relatives and neighbours who may be struggling with heating costs.

“The response to last year’s booklet was so strong that I have placed a larger order this year so that more copies can be sent to local community centres, voluntary organisations and residents who contact me for a copy.”

People can get a copy of the new booklet by contacting Mr Morris’s office on 0121 550 6777 or emailing energybills@halesowenandrowleyregis.com.
