AN afternoon concert is to be staged by the Halesowen Orchestra in a departure from tradition.
The popular performances at the Cornbow Hall are usually held in the evening, and orchestra member Julie Billingham said it was hoped the move to 3pm on Sunday March 17 would attract new concert-goers.
The programme will feature Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8, Weber’s Oberon Overture and the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 with soloist Amy Littlewood, under the baton of conductor Martin Leigh.
Mrs Billingham, who plays the oboe, said musicians with orchestral experience were welcome to join the orchestra, which rehearses on Mondays at Leasowes Community College at 7.30pm.
For more information and tickets for the concert, priced £10, contact her on 0121 550 0956.
