Funeral date set for man stabbed at ex-partner's Halesowen home

THE funeral of an Oldbury father who was killed during an incident at a Halesowen house will take place on Friday.

David Carpenter, aged 47,  died from a stab wound to the chest at the home of his ex-partner, Nicola Bennett, in Graham Road, on Sunday February 3.

His killer, Ian Swinburne, aged 49, who had been staying at the house in the quiet cul-de-sac, has had a murder charge against him dropped after claiming self-defence.

Mr Carpenter’s funeral will take place at Rowley Regis Crematorium on Friday at 12.15pm.

The death notice states: “He will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends,” and he is described as “the best dad, best brother, best uncle, best brother-in-law” anyone could have had.

Family flowers only have been requested, but any donations will be given to his 13-year-old daughter.
