Nuisance drivers in Halesowen car park spin

DRIVERS of 30 cars who turned out for a “meet” on the upper floors of Halesowen’s Pool Road multi-storey car park were warned not to return by police.

Sergeant Duncan Rudge responded to reports of cars being driven around the car park on a Sunday evening earlier this month and stopped each car as they started to leave.

“I could hear the noise from the police station and they were starting to leave when I got there. Having stopped one, the rest backed up on the exit,” he said.

Sgt Rudge took their registration numbers and warned them they could face insurance infringements, if it were proved any of the young drivers were insured as named drivers when they were actually the main driver.

Inquiries revealed that most of the vehicles had come from Kidderminster and Coventry and Sgt Rudge said it was likely that a couple of young local motorists had invited others to meet up via Facebook.
