Dudley Council accused of ignoring pleas to spruce up Halesowen car parks

PLEAS to Dudley Council for shabby car parks in Halesowen to be spruced up have fallen on deaf ears, claim business leaders.

Chamber of Trade chairman Steve Fitzpatrick said graffiti in the stairwell of the Pool Road multi-storey and its general uncleanliness was a major issue.

But, he said, the council had failed to respond to repeated phone calls, emails and letters.

He is now writing to the chief executive, John Polychronakis, complaining about the lack of response and urging a meeting to discuss improvements.

“The cleaning is sporadic and the graffiti in the stairwell is a mess. It looks unkempt and unattractive. It doesn’t give people the message that it’s a secure place to leave the cars.

“People pay enough in parking charges - some of the money should go back into looking after the car parks,” said Mr Fitzpatrick.

There has been no response from the council to inquiries by the News.

Death ears? Death eaters that have had no tea. No wonder they won't listen.

Dudley Council not responding to letters? No surprise there. The only time the council gets in touch is if wants cash off you.
No surprise too that despite the exorbitant car parking charges, none of the money is being spent on the car parks.
