A NEW library was unveiled this week at Leasowes High in Halesowen.

Pupils at the Kent Road school held a grand opening of the library to co-incide with World Book Day.

Staff and students worked over the half-term to get the library ready in time, with fifteen students giving up their time.

Headteacher Neil Shaw said: “It is wonderful to see the opening of our library at Leasowes.

“Staff and students have worked extremely hard to develop a fiction resource for the school to access and I look forward to many years of reading for enjoyment and improved literact.

“This is an important development that will help to maintain our outstanding English results.

Leasowes students read together on a weekly basis and the school has a book club. The new library features the latest teenage fiction, magazines and computers.
