Council leader to speak out on Cradley retirement village plans
10:50am Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News
DUDLEY Council leader David Sparks will speak to residents about plans for a controversial £18m retirement village at the next Cradley forum.
The forum will be held at Providence Methodist Church, Windmill Hill, on Wednesday March 27, at 7pm.
Councillor Tim Crumpton said councillor Sparks had agreed to attend the meeting to speak about plans from Midland Heart, which have been given the go-ahead, for an Extra Care retirement village on the former Cradley High school site on Homer Hill.
There are concerns over the effect plans will have on Homer Hill park, which is next to the school site.
Cllr Crumpton said an update would also be given around the fact that parts of the land are held in Trust.
Plans for a play scheme at Providence Methodist Church in partnership with the Black Country Foodbank, which would see children get a meal at lunchtime, will also be discussed.
