CAR dealers geared up for a sales pitch with a difference when they displayed their latest models at a Halesowen school.

Beachwood Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and Acorn Mitsubishi showed off their motors as part of an English curriculum day at Leasowes High School.

It brought the year nine students up to speed with the industry, helping to steer them to success in their car advertising project.

The pupils had to design and market a vehicle for a target audience, creating professional-looking design boards and advertisements.

Mentoring service manager Chris Bennett said he hoped the exercise might inspire some students to pursue a career in marketing, advertising or the motor industry.

Principal Neil Shaw added: “I am certain that students will gain some very valuable insights into the automotive industry and improve their writing skills as a result."
