HEADTEACHERS from schools across Dudley borough, Halesowen College and Worcester University have come together to celebrate the success of a new partnership.
Pupils from Leasowes, Hillcrest and Wordsley School have been taking part in gifted and talented taster days at the college and university, with more due to join in.
The groups are learning a variety of skills including filmmaking, maths, geography, English, German, history, photography, fashion and textiles, graphics and animal care.
The taster courses are designed to raise the pupils’ aspirations, improve their GCSE grades and help them find out more about college and university life.
Janet Williams, cchool liaison director at the college, said: “This new partnership has been extremely successful and the pupils are really benefiting from these new sessions in a different learning environment.
“This will help ease them into college and university life in the future and gives them access to different facilities and courses.”
