Bookworms at a Halesowen school came out on top in a borough-wide competition.
A team from Howley Grange Primary School won the Dudley Borough Book Quiz.
The keen book fans had to read a set of eight books and learn about a range of authors including Roald Dahl and Anne Fine.
They then impressed judges with their recall.
And a team from the school, made up of seven and eight-year-olds, also did well, coming second in the quarter final.
Teacher Esther Cole, said: "The children worked ever so hard, including the reserves.
"They had to read all the books in quite a short amount of time - we are really proud of them."
