CRADLEY Heath and Old Hill Neighbourhood Forum is being held next week giving residents the chance to voice their concerns about anti-social behaviour and other problems in the area.

Councillors, Sandwell Council officers, the police and representatives from other partner agencies will be attending the meeting to deal with grievances.

Rowley town lead Councillor Barbara Price will be reporting back on problems which were lodged at the last meeting in January.

The long awaited pedestrian crossing at Barrs Road will be discussed at the forum as will traffic problems on Valley Road and Corngreaves Road.

A vexed issue raised at that meeting included a scrap business on Silverthorne Road which residents believed had broken regulations.

Cllr Price said: “Sandwell Council planning department confirm that the conditions have been breached and enforcement action has been taken and has progressed to legal service team.”

Since the last meeting council officers have resolved several complaints including fly tipping at Oldfields and the installation of a bin near Ivans Fish and Chip Shop on Lawrence Lane.

Grot spots including the former Blue Ball pub and Rainbow Upholstery have also been investigated due to complaints from residents. A spokesman for the council urged residents to attend the forum on Wednesday night.

He said: “Sandwell Council’s Communities Unit organises forum meetings in all Sandwell neighbourhoods.

“Forums are a chance for people to bring concerns about their area to the attention of the council's neighbourhood managers, police and other partner organisations.

“This is so that action can then be taken to tackle the problem.”

Cradley Heath and Old Hill Neighbourhood Forum to be held on Wednesday, June 12, 6.30pm at the Salvation Army, Meredith Street.

The accompanying neighbourhood walkabout will take place on Thursday, June 13, at 10am, starting at the Salvation Army.
