THE life of murdered Blackheath teacher Alethea Taylor was celebrated in Halesowen this week.

The former primary school teacher was killed by her husband John Talyor last year and her body has never been found.

Friends, family, former colleagues and pupils turned out to the memorial service at Halesowen Parish Church on Saturday.

Mrs Taylor had lived in Dudley and taught at Blackheath Primary School and was popular with staff and pupils alike, she left the area when she retired and moved to Shropshire.

This followed another memorial at her local village church in Oreleton which was led by the Bishop of Ludlow, the Rt Rev Alistair Magowan, on Wednesday, June 5.

Following 63-year-old Mrs Taylor's disappearance in January 2012 local villagers scoured the area in an attempt to find her.

Undertaker John Taylor was sentenced to a minimum 15 years for his wife’s murder and refused to divulge the location of her body.
