A CRADLEY Heath curry house has teamed up with other restaurants across Birmingham to raise cash for the victims of the Bangladeshi Rana Plaza tragedy.
Over 1,000 people died and over 2,500 left needing support when the Rana Plaza building collapsed in May after its owners continually flouted building regulations.
The Alachi international restaurant, Highgate Street, has embarked on a fundraising drive for the stricken families.
Together with Sylet Spice in Kings Heath and Tumeric Jones in Sutton Coldfield the owners of Alachi raised over £8,000 in one night at a charity gala.
After that success the three restaurants have now organising a series of fund raising events across the West Midlands.
Mahbubur Rahman Choudhury and Joynal Abedin from Alachi are now busy spreading the word about their fundraising efforts.
The owners also took over 80 community members to the House of Commons to complain about the exploitation of workers in Bangladesh at the All Party Group on International Relations which is chaired by Birmingham MP Khalid Mahmood.
