Inquests of Rowley Regis couple found dead at home delayed
11:57am Wednesday 7th August 2013 in News
THE inquests of the Rowley Regis couple found dead in their home three weeks ago have still not been opened and might not be held for weeks.
Dr Kenneth and Jayne McRae were discovered at their Bryan Budd Close townhouse on Wednesday, July 17 but the long delay in opening the inquests is due to the completion of further reports on Mr McRea.
The inquests had been listed to be held last week but Black Country coroner Robin J Balmain ruled that both inquests should be held together.
A post mortem examination determined that Mrs McRae, 55, died from severe head injuries.
Further tests need to be conducted after pathologists failed to determine the precise cause of 52-year-old Dr McRae's death.
Detectives are not looking for anybody else in connection with the deaths.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “The hold up is due to the toxicology reports on Dr McRae and these could take a few more weeks to be completed.”
