MUSICIAN Brian T Williams is staging a second gala night of comedy and music in Cradley to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support which helped him overcome throat cancer.
The former one man band, who performed in shows, on cruises and around the world for 35 years was struck down by the disease in 2009.
His first show at the Cradley Sports and Social Club last October raised almost £1,000 for the charity and to raise a similar figure this year would be “superb” he said.
The 63-year-old, from Colley Gate, will be strumming his guitar with Niven Smith, from Blackheath, who together make up the duo Beechwood.
Top midlands comedian Ian "Sludge" Lees, whose TV appearances include The Comedians and Tizwas, will be raising the laughs at the event on Tuesday October 8 along with popular northern comic and vocalist Allan Roberts.
Guitarist and instrumentalist Ian Lockyer, taking a break from the cabaret/hotel/cruising circuits and vocalist Szara King, whose credits include Blackpool’s Central Pier and one time resident vocalist at the Talk of London, are also on the bill.
The gig, at the club in Colley Lane, starts at 8pm and admission is by ticket only from Brian on 07852 190 333. There will also be a raffle and food available, with all proceeds going to the charity.
