Halesowen and Cradley tenants urged to sign up to new direct debit scheme
8:00am Friday 16th August 2013 in News
HALESOWEN and Cradley tenants are being encouraged to sign up to Direct Debit, a more convenient payment method to pay their housing charges.
Direct Debit can be used to make payments for housing rent, garage rent and insurance.
Tenants can sign up to Direct Debit by calling 01384 815024 to speak to our dedicated housing staff. The line is open Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm, with an answer phone facility available out of hours.
There is also a choice of two payment dates to best suit tenant’s circumstances, on or around the 6 or 28 of the month.
Everyone who pays their rent by Direct Debit before June 2014 will automatically be entered into a monthly free prize draw to win £100 supermarket vouchers.
Councillor Steve Waltho, cabinet member for housing, said: “Using Direct Debit as a payment method is simple, quick, safe and is Dudley Council’s preferred method. We currently have over 3,000 tenants who already take advantage of this service, benefiting from saved time and hassle as their bank or building society automatically makes the payment when it is due.
”Everyone who joins between now and June 2014 will be entered into our free prize draw, with a 1 in 3,000 chance of winning. It’s even better odds than the lottery!”
Residents are also reminded to sign up to the community council e-bulletin, launched in June, by visiting email@example.com with their postcode and house number so they can ensure you receive local news to where you live.
